Big Bear, California

Posted on

Lesa tells me about Big Bear all the time and how they go there to get their “forest” fix! Ft. Therefore, she decided we needed to go so I could see what they were raving about. Ft. Irwin is about 2 hours away and we went straight south!

The climb to Big Bear took us a couple thousand feet higher than the desert floor. We wound up the road through the mountain in this photo.

My crazy kids!

We stopped at the lake to walk out across a marsh on a boardwalk kind of bridge. It was cold as the wind was blowing but the sun was out and the sky was blue.

We drove through the town and Court was taken with the Clydesdale horse pulling a wagon. We had to go check out the price for a ride around town. I think it was like $55 for 12 minutes. We got back in the Charger!

We drove through some neighborhoods and went down to the marina.

We stopped at the local Starbucks and used the restroom and got a drink. Then we headed to the other side of the lake to hike one of their many trails. A pass is needed to park the car to hike. Thankfully, everything was closed and we didn’t have to worry about how to get it or find where to get it.

We enjoyed the aroma of the forest and got our “fix.” It was a good day.

Life is sooooooo friggin’ awesome! God is a loving Father to give us so much.

As a relative flat lander, that first photo almost took my breath away!

It looks like that was an awesome forest fix!

After being in the forest all summer, I know what they mean! It is just so beautiful and so much to see.
