Are there any reality TV shows you’d try out for?

Posted on

My kids are into reality shows especially those with celebrities. So I have gotten a pretty good dose of how the other half lives this last month.

We have watched Kendra and her mom make up.

We have watched Gene Simmons win back his woman of 28 years and marry her.

And then there was all the drama and wedding of Kim Kardiashian. Boy, has Bruce Jenner aged! LOL Haven’t we all. 🙂 I won’t even go into JersyShore and Snookie. Oh my what drama.

We also watched a reality show called “Sister Wives” and it amazes me how people don’t mind some camera following them around recording them and thus giving us TMS. I know – it’s called $$$$$$$

New York Times put out an article quoting their statistics that 82% of their polling people don’t believe there is much “reality” in reality TV. However, these kinds of TV shows have become very popular over the last few years.

As to the question in the title of this crazy posting, there isn’t one show I would want to be on. Expect maybe if it had something to do with RVing and then it would have to be more of a “help one achieve their full-time RV dream” show. Now, that might be fun!

Life is very good without a camera following us around.

Reality TV? … well, unfortunately, it’s likely not like reality at all. I worry about young people watching these shows and thinking that in fact this is the way that people truly do live and act. I would rather watch people plant/harvest, or tend to livestock, or hunt for mushrooms, or filet a fish … or anything else that might be useful. It’s too bad people don’t turn off their TV’s and actually interact with the people and environment around them … okay … I’ll get off my soapbox 😉
    Hugs!! Janice
