I had heard from friends about Corpus Christi, Texas and how nice it was down here. A dream. That is what it was to me. And maybe an item on the bucket list but way down the line. Yet, here we are sitting on Newport Beach in our 5th wheel listening to the ocean 24/7 and loving it. We have been here since Monday. I still can’t believe we are actually HERE!
Our first look at water came when we had to cross the bridge and bay to Padre Island. We were so excited!
Our first look at Newport Beach where the Audell’s gave us directions to. This beach is about 5 miles beyond Mustang Island State Park and 2 miles west of Port Aranasa. We had to get a $12 parking sticker and it is good for the whole year. On the right are the campers and on the left are the fishermen.
Of course, running 16,000 pounds out on the sand was a bit scary. However, it is packed solid and as we found out the tide does not come up that far so as to make the sand mushy.
We didn’t know who was the more excited – the Audell’s or us for being here. We thank you for bringing us to this little slice of heaven on earth. We love it here and oh, I can’t even think of leaving just yet. What a wonderful place to add to our retirement travels.
Life is excellent! Our God is so faithful and blesses us so much.
