After getting our home all cleaned from top to bottom, all the laundry done that I could find and filling up our extra jugs of water, we got on the road at 7 a.m. on Monday. Destination: Roosevelt Lake. About 300 miles away from Yuma.
First things first – breakfast. We found an easy restaurant in the Foothills off I8 – McDonalds. Yep, fast food. It was easy, fast and not too bad tasting if not a totally healthy meal. I actually look like I am awake. Right?
The trip to Phoenix went very well and we pulled into Hobby Lobby. Yep, couldn’t get past this store. Actually, Janet needed to return an item she purchased on our Phoenix trip back in December. She was waylaid though and I don’t think she made it into the store. Her pantry door in their home didn’t stay shut and she had quite a mess to clean up. Hate it when that happens. So Ralph is busy coming up with ideas on how to fix that little problem.
Our next stop was at Costco for dog food and we managed to find several other items we needed. We also stopped for lunch. Another “not healthy” meal but heck, our good eating ways can start tomorrow!
About 3 p.m. we arrived at our destination.
We are in the Teddy Bear Campground of the Cholla loop.
Life is good. God needs to warm us up! 15 degree wind chill factor.
