Phoenix Trip

Posted on

We have been in Bouse a month now. And a glorious month it has been! The weather perked up again and we hit 80 degrees on Monday. However, not to last. Rain is coming to Phoenix area today so we might get some of their cast off weather in a day or so.

We trekked off to Phoenix yesterday for a fun day of shopping. I think of all the shopping we did, Morgan made out the best. We stopped at Pet Smart and found her a thick foam bed large enough to fit her whole body on. I wanted to take her out last night but she wouldn’t budge! This will be good for her old bones.

We bought us a Bissell Green Machine carpet cleaner at Costco. Best price we have found and it continually heats the water. (there goes the solar amps!). We used Janet’s little machine and it does an awesome job of cleaning the carpets. It is small, so it will be easy to store.

We have been looking at TV’s after finding out how our old TV sucks the amphs right out of our batteries. We found a 26″ Vizio LED at Costco for $289. We put it in the cart and looked at each other and said “Should we.” We both decided to cart it around the store while we decided if we should buy it or not. We decided on NOT and Dale put it back. Our friends are going to Oregon the first of January so we may have them get it for us there because then we wouldn’t have to pay sales tax! Or we might wait until we get to Albuquerque and the next Costco. We are getting a new TV as it won’t suck the solar right our of our batteries!

We ended our day in Phoenix by going to the Arriba Mexican Grill after shopping at Sunflower Market. Janet and Ralph saw the TV ads for this restaurant and we just HAD to try it out. Good choice. The food was excellent, the decor was good and the bathroom smelled bad. Good thing Janet didn’t check out the bathroom first or we might not have gotten to enjoy one of the best Mexican food eatery’s since Sierraville, CA. We give this a big 2 thumbs up (since I only have 2 thumbs).

We arrived back at the rigs at a decent hour, exhausted, tummy’s full (except for Ralph who declared he was hungry again!) and satisfied with our purchases. Until I discovered this morning I forgot the peanut butter! Trying to find natural peanut butter in Arizona is a challenge. Grrrr.

Oh well, another day another trip to the big city.

Life is good, God is praised this season for His Son.
