Fun in the Desert

Posted on Updated on

We are freezing in the desert. Is that fun? Heck no! Although, I have to tell you that the blue sky and sun everyday is totally awesome. We also get to see the sunset in golds and pinks. So life is good.

Our Thanksgiving was one of the nicest Thanksgivings in a long time. If you can’t be with family than good friends are the next best! Especially, when they are good cooks.

Thanksgiving

We had so much left over that we had another Thanksgiving dinner the next night. Everything was so yummy. Except the weather. We had to eat indoors this year.

Other activities out here include happy hour. Yes, every day at 4 p.m. we gather at someone’s house for ‘anything goes’ drinks and chit-chat. Sometimes food is involved. Of course! This happy hour just happened to be on my birthday hence the presents. In this photo is Terry, Kathy, me, Ralph, Bob, Noreen, Morgan and Janet.

Another favorite event we like is Monday morning breakfast at the Community Center in Bouse. For $4 we get pancakes, egg and sausage. Both Dale and I skip the sausage for an extra egg and Dale eats most of my pancakes and his. That powers him up for his bike ride during the day!

Last Saturday us gals went to Quartzsite to a beading class. We made a bracelet and found out how much fun it is. Each of us have made three more bracelets. Tomorrow is time to go back and get more beads and some patterns. I have a new craft!

So, sitting out in the desert is just sitting around twiddling our thumbs. Not this couple.

Life is good. God is still in the miracle business.
