Is There Such A Word as Organicsmic?

Posted on Updated on

We left Pat and Ron today with big hugs and thanks for showing us a part of New Mexico we might have missed.

Dale was up at 6:30 AM, yes, AM and we were hooked up and ready to go by 7:15. Goodbye Cochiti Lake, hello Santa Fe!

We had to travel I25, which as you know freeway driving is “not” us but we had to do what we had to do. The night before I made a list for an organic store in Santa Fe. Have you ever heard of Whole Foods Market? We hadn’t. Now, every WalMart Superstore we enter will be major let downs and depression!

If you have never been in a natural and organic grocery store, well, in my book, you are missing out on a super high food experience! It took me about 20 minutes just to get out of the first isle. The one with the peanut butter, bulk nuts and beans row. Next came the seafood display. Oh my. Every kind of seafood you could ever want. I settled for Tequila and Lime Salmon burgers – more on those later.

I got as far as the potatoes and onions in the veggie department. I had veggies and I knew I would buy more because they are organic and so mouth-watering. I missed out on the asparagus at $1.99 pound. The meat market was just as appetizing as the seafood. I rounded the corner into a magnum opus of cheese. Every kind of cheese imaginable. We sampled the German Cheddar. Yummy. The deli was to die for and next to it was bread. They were making bread and baking it right there in front of us. Dale found the coffee and he maybe went into an eye rolling back in his head experience. He went back for seconds. We ate breakfast at their hot bar – lots of Mexican breakfast dishes. Dale said our food costs would double if we continued to shop here. I said we would be morehealthy if we did!

Lest I forget to mention – rows of every kind of supplements for a better and healthy life. We are coming back to Santa Fe in July for 20 days and can’t wait, not only to visit the capital of New Mexico with its rich history, but shop at Whole Foods!!!!

We are in Raton now at the Sugarite State Park in the Alice Lake Campground (how’s that Allie!). We have a great spot except it is on the road to another lake. Hoping the traffic dies down by dark. (as the red SUV pounding out rap for the world to hear goes by!)

Oh yes, the salmon burgers. Dale purchased some Parmesan type hard rolls. We BBQ’d the salmon burgers and topped them off with sprouts, avocado and tomatoes. Ambrosia! We yummy’d and sighed with every bite. They were so good and I wish I would have bought another package. The end to a wonderful day.
