We have been busy playing again!
Yesterday we drove back up to Cloudcroft and had breakfast at a small restaurant, The Westerner, on Burro Avenue. I had two eggs, bacon, hashbrowns and a biscuit for $5. Dale had a Western Omelet for $6.50, coffee included.
It was very cold up at 8600 feet. This part of Cloudcroft reminded me of Jacksonville, Oregon. The walkway was “old western” boards and the shops were high-end but decorated for the tourist. Not much to purchase for an RV! We did like the kitchen shop and bought a small hanging ornament (sun) for our wall. While Dale was taking photo’s, I was busy finding a coffee shop and a Chai Latte to warm up!
Next on our agenda was Ruidoso. We wanted to go back and look at their shops. It snowed on us some of the way. After we got back to Ruidoso we didn’t see any shop that interested us. (ha) Long drive just to go to Wally World! So we trekked back to Alamogordo and stopped at the Visitor’s center for info, went to Colicha’s for a frozen custard. Dale had a mango milkshake and I had a “blizzard” like concoction with peanut butter cup.
Today, we are off to the Space Museum and Imax. Pictures to come!
