Blue Moon

Posted on

The term Blue Moon originated in 1528 according to Wikipedia. Anytime a full moon happens beyond the twelve full moons in a year we call it a Blue Moon. Our seconded full moon this month was not blue in color but a big orange/yellow ball coming up over the KOFA Mountains here in Imperial Dam.

We knew the moon was coming up last night, but it came up where we couldn’t see it. An announcement came over our CB telling us the moon was coming up and where.  We grabbed our camera’s and ran outside to take part in this special event. It became quite obvious to us that we needed our tripods as we couldn’t keep our camera’s still. The cold wind drove us back inside but we did get a couple of photo’s worthy of putting up on our blogs!!!

This is for all my friends who had skies covered over in clouds and storms and missed the moon coming up. I hope tonight you will be able to catch the moon in all its glory.

Thanks so much, Gwen, for sending us this blue moon picture. What a joy! We had clouds and snow, so no sight here. Glad you are enjoying your time. Do it while you can. We don’t know what tomorrow is going to bring.

    Happy New Year!
